Different Indian apparel brands are planning to hold exhibitions all over the world, especially in Australia, the USA, the UK and Dubai because they have a strong Indian diaspora which will help the businesses to expand their footprints.

Recently in Dubai, a total of 350 domestic top Indian apparel brands held an event called “Brands of India” to showcase their products. According to many, the response was great from the audience. Dubai was surely one of the most obvious choices for this event because it is the second largest market for Indian export goods and has great potential for Indian products. 

Other than that, UAE is already the largest importer of different readymade Indian garments which totalls the import value to 1.21 billion US dollars in FY23.

According to the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), different retailers, wholesalers, departmental chains and e-commerce platforms showed interest in the exhibition.

Not only that but about 1500 importers and retailers from countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Somalia, Oman, Yemen, Ghana, Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Russia and Sudan pre registered for this event.

The exhibition was participated by different leading fashion brands of India from Mumbai, Kolkata, Surat, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Tirupur, Jaipur and Indore.

The future of the Indian apparel industry

The apparel industry is one of the evergreen industries that sees different changes due to several reasons like economic problems or technological advancements but still continues to grow. The clothing industry of India has a bright future because of different reasons including the growing purchasing power of Indians.

From new industry trends to new marketing techniques, there are a lot of changes happening in the sector. But with a lot of space to grow, the Indian apparel industry surely has a shining future in India and also outside India. 

According to a study, The revenue in the Apparel market in India is projected to reach US$101.40bn in 2023. Not only that but the market is expected to grow by 3.58% on a yearly basis (CAGR 2023-2027).

There are several new trends in the clothing industry that are giving us hope about the growth of it.

One of the best things that’s happening in the Indian clothing market is that it is watching the growth of several regional brands on a national scale. Brands with a good understanding of the market and the target customer base can do well on a national level with the help of these e-commerce platforms.

2. The social media impact – 

One of the most impactful technologies invented in the last few years is surely social media which has changed humankind in different ways. The same is applicable to the apparel industry. This industry is highly affected by social media platforms.

With the arrival of social media, it has become easier for brands to reach out to customers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. By collaborating with fashion influencers, brands can now reach out to millions of people around the country and be able to sell their products.

Another most important trend in the fashion industry of India is the adaptation of sustainable fashion. The customers are now highly concerned about the environmental and social impact of the industry, especially the young generations. This is leading to the growth of more Eco-friendly brands that make their product using organic materials like recycled fabrics and organic cotton.
